Evaluating a 30 month old child language development.?

I'm trying to figure out if my daughter needs speech therapy. She's 30 months old and she still uses baby talk a lot more than regular talk. She can say words but not big sentences. She comes from a Spanish speaking family, so I don't know if she's confused with both languages or if she really has a speech problem. I want to hear some opinions before I decide to take her to a therapist. So if you can help please do so.

I know that children who are raised bilingual are slower with their speech development than children who are raised with one language only. I am raising my son bi-lingual German/English, and he definitely took his time using full sentenses. But I would call your pediatrician and as him/her about it. Delayed speech can have many reasons, among others hearing problems. Your pediatrician would be the best source, because s/he knows your child and can evaluate the situation best. I think taking her to speech therapy straight away is too much, your pediatrician can still refer you there if s/he thinks its necessary.
